Old Ballantruan은 다른 Speyside 지역의 몰트 위스키들과는 다르게 몰팅 작업시 많은 피트를 사용하여

강한 피트 향을 느낄 수 있습니다.

 

Tomintoul 증류소에서 증류하여 8년간 오크통에서 숙성 시킨 몰트 위스키를 Angus Dundee Distillers에서

병입 하였습니다.

 

 

 

Old Ballantruan is a new single malt whisky release from Angus Dundee Distillers. (Bottling)

This Speyside whisky is made with heavily-peated malted barley to impart a distinctive flavour.

After ‘sleeping’ for up to eight years in hand-picked oak barrels, this whisky has been bottled at

50% ABV and without chill-filtration in order to retain its layered and integrated peaty flavours.

On the nose there is heathery smoke balanced with subtle floral notes;

on the palate there is are gentle "peat-reek" flavours with hints of citrus tones and malty nuttiness;

while the finish lingers with smoke and peat with a touch of malted barley sweetness.

 

 

Tasting Notes

 

Nose : Youthful, malty, chocolate, wet turf.
Palate : Soft creamy / oily mouthfeel (mostly at fore), Sweet malt and peat.
Finish : Cold haggis, bitumen, touch of thick cardboard.
Overall : With water more tar and bitterness evolves. Good value!
