Cutty Sark is blended for UK owner Berry Brothers by the Edrington Group (owner of blended

Scotch Famous Grouse, and single malts the Macallan and Highland Park) and is considered

one of the lightest of the major blends.

Cutty uses American oak for aging, and Tamdhu and Macallan are part of the mix.

Imperial distillery closed its doors in 1998 ending one hundred years of intermittent production of this engaging

and largely unsung malt whisky.

Rarely available as a single, this Speyside gem exudes some complex intensity tempered by graceful subtleties.

The aromas are intriguing, giving lemon and lime zest, linseed, cocoa and fennel.

The palate has a nutty, sherry bias laced with sauvignon hints leading to a creamy, sherry style finale.

Cutty Sark Golden Jubilee는 하노바 왕조의 마지막 빅토리아 여왕의 즉위 50년을 기념하기 위하여

만든술입니다.

빅토리아여왕 (1819.5.24 ~ 1901.1.2)의 왕위 즉위는 1837년에 있었으니 1887년 왕위승계 50주년이

되는 해를 기념하기 위한 술입니다.

당시 제조회사는 1698년에 설립된 Berry Bros & Rudd사로 이 회사는 빅토리아 여왕 재위기간 동안 

1760년 부터 왕실에 주류를 납품하던 회사입니다.

이 술은 최하 50년 숙성 위스키가 아닙니다. 단지 50년된 몰트 위스키가 일부 사용되었습니다.

병에 적어진 숫자는 단지 왕위승계 50주년을 기념하는 술이라는 의미의 50일 뿐입니다.

Golden Jubilee 의 뜻도 또한 50주년이라는 의미입니다.

이 술은 12년~13년 숙성된 위스키를 사용하였으며, 50년 숙성된 몰트 위스키를 일부 추가하였습니다.

Taken from whiskies blended 12-13 years ago and containing some malts over 50 years old,

this is naturally golden in colour, very elegant with a rich, fruity nose.

A good alternative to the finest Cognac.
