"술의 황제"로 불리는 Louis XIII는 17세기 프랑스 루이 13세의 이름에서 유래됐습니다.

 

일반적인 레미 마르땡 루이 뜨레이지엠므 (13세)는, 3대에 걸쳐서 Cellar Master의 인내와 정성

노력으로 숙성 시키고 있는 1,200 여종의 오드비를 블렌딩하여 만들었습니다.

그 오드비들의 숙성 년수는 최소 40년 이상이며, 최고 100년이 넘는 오드비도 일부 사용되었습니다.

 

Grande Champagne 지역에서 재배된 포도와 그 포도로 만든 Eaux-de-vie들을 블렌딩하여,

Tiercons (= ancient oak barrels) 라고 불리는 백년 이상 사용된 중고 오크통에 넣어서, 별도의

빈티지 꼬냑을 보관하는 특별 창고에서 단기간 재숙성 (Marrying의 의미) 을 거쳐 탄생됩니다.

 

블렌딩 후에 잠시동안 창고에서 Marrying 과정을 거치는 이유는, 숙성 기간이 40년~100년 정도로

차이가 많이나는, 약 1,200 여 종의 오드비들을 혼합하였기 때문에, 이 혼합된 꼬냑이 안정화 되는

기간이 필요하기 때문입니다.

 

Remy Martin Louis XIII는 바카라 크리스탈 수제 장식 병에 담겨진 지상에서 존재할 수 있는

최고의 꼬냑으로, Grande Champagne 100%로 생산되는 고귀한 생명수와 같은 포도로 만든

명품 중의 명품입니다.  

 

Remy Martin Louis XIII 이 처음으로 만들어진 것은 1874년 Paul Emile Remy Martin에 의해서

이며, 현재와 비슷한 모양의 프랑스 황실 술병 모양의 Baccarat Crystal Decanter를 처음으로

사용한 해는 1936년 입니다.

 

Remy Martin Louis XIII Black Pearl은 일반 Louis XIII가 약 1,200 종류의 오드비들을

블렌딩하여 만든 것에 비하여, 역사적인 건물인 Le Grollet에서 100년 이상 숙성보관하고 있던

가문 소유의 비장의 술통 (Single Barrel : C100-29)에서 총 786병을, 바카라 크리스탈 병에

흑진주 가루를 코팅처리하여 만든 최고급 병에 담아 2006년 12월 중순에 출시하였습니다.

 

지상에서 존재할 수 있는 최고의 꼬냑으로, Grande Champagne 100%로 생산되는 고귀한

The house of Remy Martin introduces the ultimate in luxury ? Louis XIII Black Pearl.

Presented in a Baccarat decanter with metallic sheen, this rare and special edition of

Louis XIII comes from a single barrel, specially selected from the family’s personal

reserve at the historical estate Le Grollet. only 786 bottles of Black Pearl will be

created, making this luxurious experience possible for a just a few select individuals

in the world.

Louis XIII is moving away from the traditional and has looked to the future, resulting in a

unique decanter of crystal caressing steel that combines classicism and modernity;

chosen to symbolise the original Louis XIII carafe found by a peasant in 1850 on the

site of the battle of Jarnac.

The technology for its creation has never been commercially available before, and the

marriage with such a precious liquid is truly a benchmark in the luxury world.

Each hand-blown carafe housing eaux-de-vie from the century-old barrel C100-29 will

be individually numbered from 001 ~ 786 with a small allocation of Black Pearl being

available to luxury aficionados from mid-December 2006.

Nicknamed the King of cognacs, Louis XIII has since its creation been the cognac of Kings and

famously enjoyed by the likes of Queen Elizabeth and Winston Churchill.

Louis XIII is made up of some one thousand two hundred eaux-de-vie, originating solely from the

grapes in the Grande Champagne region; the finest and most sought after vineyards in all of

Cognac.

 

The special edition Black Pearl is the brand’s first launch in 20 years and only a specified

number of decanters will be commercially available in the entire United Kingdom retailing at

￡5,000.

 

Louis XIII launches Louis XIII Black Pearl, an exclusive limited edition rare blend of 1200

Eaux-de-Vie.

Using only grapes from the Grande Champagne region which guarantees its unique, exclusive

quality, the Eaux-de-vie comes exclusively from one tiercon (barrel) which is numbered and

aged in the darkest of Remy Martin cellar.

 

This exceptional cognac is considered to be the best in the world.

The Baccarat Crystal is lined with Black Pearl using a state of the art, and never seen

before coating treatment.

The Black Pearl is viewed as the “Queen of the Pearls” and symbolizes preciousness

and rarity;

more than 15,000 pearls need to be opened before a black pearl is revealed.

 

Out of the 786 limited edition bottles made available worldwide, DFS was able to

secure a select quantity.
