Bottle Story

 

Mr. Daniel fancied riverboats. However, he was more impressed with all of the

trade that the riverboats would take to distant places.

Mr. Jack knew that he had to win over the riverboat captains.

On the riverboats, the captains ensured that each all of the passengers were

treated to fine staterooms, food, cigars, and of course, drink.

The captain was a businessman who knew he had to please his passengers.

Mr. Daniel was a businessman as well.

Mr. Jack offered some of his Old No. 7 to the captain of the Tennessee Belle.

He promised that every time he returned to Nashville, he would fill his bottle.

He knew that his fine drink would be consumed on the riverboat by the

passengers as well as up and down the river.

This is the reknowned Jack Daniel's Riverboat Captain's decanter.

This was produced in 1987 by the distillery, and recalls the days when the old

steam boats used to ply their trade on the banks of the Mississipi.

 

This is one of the best-liked of the older decanters, and has an elegant shape

with a beautiful stopper in the shape of a ships wheel.

 

It was also the first decanter to be produced with a plastic shrink-wrap seal, as

opposed to the old paper seals.
