2007년 12월 6일 미국 뉴욕의 크리스티 경매장에서 $ 54,000 에 낙찰되어 공식적으로 새로운 기록을

세웠습니다. 

 

2003년 4월 23일 McTear's 경매에서 20,500 파운드에 낙찰되었습니다.

(실제 구입가격 = 낙찰가 + 15% 수수료 + VAT => 24,282.3 파운드)

 

2005년에는 영국의 Edrington Group 소유의 Skibo Castle에서 열린 자선경매에서 $75,000 에

낙찰되기도 하였으며, 이 술은 우리나라의 한 사업가가 경매에서 구입하여, 실제 물건은 서울 강남의

한 백화점 주류매장에서 인수하였습니다. (한화 70,000,000 원)

이 위스키는 국내에서 경매로 판매하려다 취소하고, 호텔이나 백화점 주류매장을 통해서 판매하기로

하였으며, 여기에는 무형문화재 나전칠기장인 이형만씨가 특별 제작한 나전칠기장을 케이스로 제공

하기로 하였습니다.

 

 

 

238 리터의 Hogshead Cask (Cask No.= 263)에서 1926년 부터 1986년 까지 60년간

숙성된 Highland Speyside 지역의 Single Malt, Single Cask Scotch Whisky 입니다.

 

총 40병이 생산되었으며, 그 중 26병만을 판매하였으며, 판매된 26병 중에서 12병만이 미개봉

상태로 남아있다고 합니다.

 

1926년에 증류하여 1986년에 병입하였으며, 1991년에 6,250 파운드로 당시 세계 최고가를 기록

하였으며, 다시 1996년에는 12,100 파운드에 판매되어 세계기록을 갱신하였습니다.

 

1991년에 6,250 파운드로 이 술을 구입한 사람은 일본 오사카에서 바를 경영하는 사람이었으며,

지금도 그 바에 전시되어 있습니다.

Nose    : Rich dark dried fruits-raisins, dates and prunes with wonderfully woody spices

              (cloves) and treacle toffee

Palate : Robust resinous wood, sweetend with medium treacle toffee and rich dried fruits

Finish  : Drying wood with dark dried fruit and treacle toffee

Rare spirits went for record high prices at Christie's New York auction house on Saturday with

the 1926 Macallan Scotch selling for $54,000

 

In 2005, a bottle of The Macallan 1926 sold for around $75,000 at the Skibo Castle. 

In 2005 a South Korean businessman paid 70 million Korean won (about $75,000) for a

1926 bottle from The Macallan’s "Fine and Rare" range.

“The actual purchase took place at the liquor retail store, Interbang, in the upmarket Gangnam

area of Seoul," according to a statement from Macallan.

 

In 2004, a New Jersey collector paid $20,000 for 750 ml of Glenfiddich Rare Collection 1937.

 

In 2002, The Dalmore 62 Years fetched approximately $51,000 at McTear’s auction house

in Glasgow, Scotland.
