1992년 초기에 생산된 위스키의 하단 라벨에 15년 ~ 60년 이라고 인쇄되어 있습니다.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label 역시 처음에는 Johnnie Walker Oldest 라는

이름으로 출시되었으나, 소비자들이 라벨의 색깔을 보고 Blue Label 이라고

별명을 붙였습니다. 그것이 1997년 부터 정식 이름으로 반영되었습니다.

 

이 위스키의 핵심은  Royal Lochnagar Malt Whisky 이며, 15년 ~ 60년 까지

숙성 시킨 약 15가지의 위스키들을 블렌딩하여 만들었습니다.

이 위스키는 라벨에 숙성년수를 표시하지 않은 NAS (No Aging Statements)

위스키 입니다.

 

숙성년수를 표시하지 않은 이유는, 만일 라벨에 숙성년수를 표기하게 되면,

법에 따라서 15 Years Old 라고 해야 합니다만, 이럴 경우에는 술의 가치를

떨어뜨리고, 위스키의 내용물에 대한 왜곡된 평가를 받을 수 있기 때문입니다.
