Ardbeg Lord of the Isles (섬들의 제왕 - 아이래이섬을 의미합니다) 

Ardbeg의 최고품의 하나입니다.

25년숙성의 깊고 풍부한 바디감과  Ardbeg만의 달콤함이 숨겨져있는 술입니다. 

 

알코올 도수는  46%이며,  자연 그래로의 풍미를 느낄수있는 Non Chill Filtered 제품입니다.

라이트 골드 칼라와 강한 캐릭터로써의 이 술은 스코틀랜드의 역사 속에서 섬들중의 제왕 (Lord of the Isles) 이자

Somerled의 요새역활을 하였던 Isay섬을 널리 알리고자하는 의도에서 Ardbeg에서 섬들중의 제왕이란 호칭을 붙여

출시하였으며, 아일래이섬에 대한 자랑의 표현입니다.

 

이 술은 광택나는 골드칼라의 케이스로 정성스럽게 포장되어있는 제품입니다.

1974년~1976년 사이의 원액중에 15%의 Sherry Cask 숙성 몰트 위스키와, 85%의 Bourbon Cask에서 숙성 시킨

몰트 위스키로 만들었습니다.

Nose: Very rich, presenting a broad spectrum of fragrances. Good stuff!
Much more iodine than the other Ardbegs I've tasted - almost like Laphroaig.
Taste: Very smoky! With a few drops of water it opens up. Sherry and liquorice.
Strangely enough, this somehow 'feels' like a vatting. Slightly short on substance.
Score: 90 points. A very fine malt but not quite worth the extravagant asking price, IMHO.

 

Tasting Note :

Michael Jackson   Nose Sea air and smokiness ? evocative sootiness. Palate Silky. The touch of fruitiness, usually reminiscent of lemons, is sweeter, with a momentary suggestion of cherries. The flavours become almondy and walnut-like, then rooty and peppery. Finish Long, haughty. Comment Lots of flavour development, complexity and refinement. Very elegant, but where is the clamour of battle?

Dave Broom   Nose Gentle and complex: orange/marmalade, sponge cake with pink icing, calfskin leather, angelica and smoke. Palate Soft and fragrant, light leathery notes then a smoky bonfire. Finish Light medicinal (Savlon/Germolene) then smoke. Comment Mellower than you’d expect but beautifully balanced.
